The Process
We Start with an In-Person Consultation
We stop by, see your space, and talk through your vision for your garden.
-
We’ll find out how much you want to grow, identify the perfect spot for your garden, talk through materials you like best, and discuss how much support you’ll need after your garden is installed.
-
Within a week you’ll get a garden design and an itemized estimate for your project.
Installation
Once on our installation calendar, we’ll take you from grass to garden in 1-2 days.
-
We remove all the grass in your garden area, add industrial-grade weed barrier, and your choice of gravel.
-
We have several options for irrigating your garden. All irrigation is handled by our licensed irrigation team. We. use drip irrigation, and your garden will water automatically! Never forget to water!
-
We will level your garden boxes and place them in your space according to the design. We’ll add our magic mix of organic soil and our custom-fabricated steel trellises.
-
A week prior to install, you’ll receive a plant preference form that contains a list of plants you can grow in Houston. According to your list, our team will plant what’s in season at the time of your garden install.
Ongoing Support
No matter where you are in your gardening journey or how green your thumb is, our team has systems in place to support you and your garden!
-
Whether you need our team to keep your garden thriving year-round or you need seasonal turnovers in your garden, our team can help. Read all about our robust maintenance program HERE.

The Monarch Way
Why Gravel is Our Go-To in our Garden Designs
Although there are several more technical reasons for installing gravel as the base in our gardens, here’s the short and simple truth: a garden you want to be in is a garden that thrives.
Some Plants Grow Vertically. Not all Trellises are Created Equally!
If you want to grow vegetables like peas, cucumbers, beans, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, eggplants, tomatillos, cantaloupe, or winter squash, you’ll need vertical growing space. Our trellises are custom-fabricated, one-piece, steel, and extremely sturdy. Plain and simple: you can’t buy anything comparable online or from a store anywhere in town.

Houston has four seasons? Hot. Hotter. Hottest. And freezing? Pretty much, but we call them spring, summer, fall, and winter. Here’s what you can grow every season:

Drip Irrigation: Why we Think it’s the Smartest Way to Water Your Garden
Water can make or break a garden. How your garden gets watered, how much it’s watered, and how consistently it gets water can greatly affect the success of your garden!
A Garden is an Investment: My Story
Although there is an actual cost associated with a garden installation, I’d argue the benefits of a garden are priceless.
Failure is Not Free
I’ve been gardening for over 25 years, and I’m pretty sure I made every mistake a new gardener can make. While I learned a lot, my mistakes also cost our family a lot!
A Garden is Convenient
Gardens are incredible for many reasons, but my favorite reason is the most practical reason: A garden is convenient. As we all know, there is definitely a cost associated with convenience.
How Freshness Impacts Flavor
As soon as a vegetable is harvested, the plant starts to break down. Not only does the nutritional make-up of a plant change – the flavor profile is drastically altered.
Grow Foods You Can’t Buy Anywhere Else!
Want to eat a tomato? When you visit your favorite grocery store, you’ll find they only carry 2-3 varieties of fresh tomatoes. Did you know hundreds of varieties of tomatoes exist? Imagine the nutrients and flavors we’re missing out on in our diet!
Gardening for Your Health – A Hobby that Increases Longevity!
Sure, eating from a garden improves health, but did you know there’s a long list of health benefits from gardening that have nothing to do with the actual food?
